Abstract

The longitudinal profile of a road surface is expected to change over time due to service conditions and the influence of the bearing capacity of the entire pavement. In order to maintain and manage the road surface over a long period of time, it is important to clarify the relationship between the longitudinal profile and the bearing capacity of the pavement over time. In this study, the relationship between longitudinal profiles tracked from 2014 to 2022 and the amount of FWD deflection was analyzed as part of the activities of the Pavement Diagnosis Research Group. As a result, a negative correlation was found between the deflection D0 and D150 and the difference in profile height, confirming a high degree of influence on the profile change in a specific wavelength region. The results also indicated the possibility of predicting future longitudinal profile changes based on the bearing capacity of the pavement at a given point in time.
