In Hokkaido, many potholesoccur on the road surface during the snowmelt season, and a great deal of labor and cost are required for repair (remedial measures). In this study, we devised a method for estimating the risk of road surface damage progressing from the point cloud data of the Mobile Mapping System in order to realize preventive maintenance of pavement. We found a correlation between road surface damage extracted by this method and crack length. Obtained the progress of pothole from the pothole areas before and after winter, and clarified the relationship between this and the flow accumulation of road surface water. In addition, we extracted the road surface damage points from the point cloud data, and estimated the progress of the road surface damage from the flow accumulation of the road surface water flowing through the points. We have also shown that this is correlated with the progress of cracking.
