Electrification of vehicles is required for carbon neutral in the transportation sector. However, buses have not been widely used due to limitations in cruising range and lower operating rates caused by recharging time. In this study, the CO2 emission reductions from the introduction of electric buses were extended by evaluating the hourly carbon intensity based on the generation mix. While preserving the current operation, we evaluated the reduction of energy costs by establishing a charging pattern for nighttime charging and drifting charging. As a result, it was revealed that the project has expanded the CO2 reduction effect by 5.6% and reduced energy costs by 56.6%, and presented an evaluation method that contributes to the promotion of the spread of electric buses.
