A SURVEY OF CONCRETE MIXES FOR JOINTED PLAIN CONCRETE PAVEMTN IN AIRPORT

Abstract

 A survey of concrete mixes applied to jointed plain concrete pavements at airports throughout Japan was conducted with the aim of preparing reference data on the mixes for airport pavement. The results showed that the increasing factor for nominal flexural strength was around 1.2, and, in the case of the concrete whose slump is 2.5 cm, water cement ratio was often around 40%, water content per unit volume of concrete was around 145 kg/m³, and cement content per unit volume of concrete was around 360 kg/m³.
