Abstract
Maritime container transport has pushed the economic globalization forward greatly. Recently, however, punctuality of the container transport caused by congestion of terminals etc. decreased substantially. If the container ships delay continually, the maintaining of global supply chain is endangered. This study, which targeted to container export from Japan to Europe, grasped and analyzed the actual situation of delay of container services, estimated the impact of this delay to Japanese/European economies. As a result, it was revealed that the direct services delay chronically, and this delay might affect the export from Japan to Europe greatly.
