Long-term shoreline changes on the Hiratsuka-Oiso coasts between 1954 and 2020 were investigated using aerial photographs and a satellite image together with field observation. On the Hiratsuka coast, Hiratsuka artificial headland of 350 m length was constructed, and sand transported from the vicinity of Oiso Port located downcoast end was nourished behind the headland, forming a large cuspate foreland. The beach changes during this beach nourishment was reproduced using the BG model. Since sand will gradually be transported until Oiso Port owing to westward longshore sand transport, recycle use of sand deposited near Oiso Port is a reasonable way to maintain the beach.
