On the Miyukino-hama coast located west of the Sakawa River extends for a length of 2.7 km between the Hayakawa and Sanno Rivers. Although eastward longhshore sand transport preveils on this coast, the shoreline has receded around the river mouth due to the decrease in fluvial sand supply from the Hayakawa River. Long-term beach changes of this coast were investigated using aerial photographs and satellite images, and changes in beach width and longitudinal profiles were studied as well as field observation on July 16, 2020. Based on these field data, future measures against beach erosion were proposed.
