Abstract

Recently, the clay improvement technique using converter slags has been developed for the effective utilization of construction generated soil. In this paper, to investigate the criterion for the construction of levee widening of revetment using slag-clay mixtures, the vane shear and unconfined compression tests were conducted on several remolded slag-clay mixtures. From these tests, the followings were obtained.

The longer the time between kneading back and reconstitution, the lower strength of the slag-clay mixtures. Therefore, it can be pointed out that in order to maintain the prescribed strength, the time between mixing and feeding the slag needs to be specified.
