ICT IMPLEMENTATION FOR PRODUCTIVITY IMPROVEMENT AND VALUE ADDITION IN EUROPEAN FISHING PORTS AND MARKETS UNDER RESOURCE MANAGEMENT, AND CHALLENGES IN JAPAN

Abstract

 The authors have clarified, by researching fishing ports and markets in Europe, that the implementation of ICT, such as computerization of sales operations, can improve productivity and add value, and that fishing ports and markets can function as bases for resource management. Computerization of sales operations is an urgent issue in Japan. In addition, the issues of introducing online sales, provision of information from fishing ports and markets, and one-stop services were identified.
