Abstract

It is extremely important to properly evaluate cracks because rainwater permeates through cracks on pavement roads, which weakens the subgrade and base course. The crack rate, which is an index for crack evaluation of asphalt pavement, indicates the ratio of meshes containing cracks with a width of 1 mm or more, and is not evaluated when the width is less than 1 mm. If there are two or more cracks in the same mesh, the evaluation will be the same even if the number increases.

In this study, a high-resolution line laser was used to obtain fine cracks with a width of less than 1 mm in addition to the conventional width of 1 mm or more. They were classified according to the crack width, the crack feature amount (intersection / separation / length / square) was obtained, and the relation with the crack rate and the relation between the feature amounts were clarified. Furthermore, it was found that the total length of the cracks and the bearing capacity of the pavement have a strong correlation among the features.
