To investigate the cyclic shear deformation and the liquefaction strength of the cement asphalt emulsion (hereafter called “CAE”) base course material, a series of undrained cyclic triaxial tests were performed. The materials used for the test are granular base course material and cement, asphalt emulsion. As a results, the liquefaction resistance RL20 of loose granular base course material was 0.12 and that of asphalt-stabilized base course material was 0.22, that of cement-stabilized base course material was 0.47, that of CAE base course material was 0.56. From the result, CAE base course material had about 4.7 times more liquefaction strength than that of granular base course material.
