The infrared spectroscopic analysis has been effective method for examining the deterioration of asphalt and the content of modifiers. Particularly, if the asphalt mixture can be analyzed directory by infrared spectroscopy, it will be a wider and useful of application. However, the analysis of the asphalt mixture is difficult because it is inhibited by fillers and aggregates of mixtures. This study examined the effects of mixed limestone powder and aggregates in asphalt samples, and pretreatment method to remove inhibitors in asphalt samples. As a result, the thresh hold content of fillers and aggregates included in the asphalt samples has been found for infrared spectroscopic analysis of the asphalt. In addition, the inhibitor can be eliminated by simple particle holding filters.
