At an actual construction site where a slope was stabilized by a top-down slope stabilization and soil nailing methods, the slope deformation behavior was observed using high precision tilt sensors. Furthermore, slope conditions were checked during slope stabilization construction using three types of checklists including a design and construction procedures checklist, a daily checklist, and a ground deformation checklist, and a troubleshooting sheet, all of which were recommended in “Guidelines for prevention of labor accidents caused by slope failure during slope cutting works.” As a result, it was confirmed that these checklists and the sheet were effective to secure the safety of construction works. On the other hand, it was found that geological risk assessment based on this guideline can not only help enhance safety at the construction site but also suppress comprehensive cost and control construction quality. In order to perform geological risk assessment effectively, which has already been done in some other countries, it is necessary to share the knowledge of various risk management and detailed information of problems happening at the site during construction among employers, contractors, and designers.
