Abstract
This paper shows the concept of the support effect about the pre-installed cable bolt and reports the justice based on the local examination. On the large sectional tunnel of the cracking rock mass, we take the pre-installed cable bolt instead of rock bolt. Because the axial stiffness and the bond strength of the pre-installed cable bolt are smaller than them of the rock bolt, the axial force of the pre-installed cable bolt spreads and becomes relatively equality. Moreover, by analyzing the bond strength of the cable bolt on the mass, we show that the occurrence mechanism of support effect is different and classified into three types.
