Abstract
A cast-in-place lining method, which is called SENS, has been recently applied for railway tunnel for safety and economical construction. The number of examples has been also gradually increased. In Tsugaru-Yomogita tunnel of Hokkaido shinkansen, homogenous sand was excavated and constructed by this method. However cracks in transverse direction were mainly found in any place of primary concrete lining and water leakages were observed.
It is important for decreasing tunnel life cycle cost to reduce cracks and water leakage. Author mainly focused on restraining cracks and analyzed the cause of crack statistically. The way of quantification of cracks was conducted by tunnel-lining crack index which has been studied these days. Author suggested measures of restraining cracks with multiple factor analysis and threshold value in rough set theory.
