In this paper, a method to estimate the mechanical properties of GFRP, in which the fibers are dispersed randomly in the matrix, is proposed by applying the probabilistic technique. The analytical model used in this method is composed of n-layered elements, that are the unidirectionally reinforced mats. The principal axes of these elements are located in the composed model by using the random vectors. To examine the above mentioned technique, the estimations of Young's modulus, Poisson's ratio and tensile strength of the chopped strand mat GFRP are performed. The analytical result fairly coincides with the experimental one.
