The authors report and discuss the results of a one-year study, starting from April 1, 2024, on the image download statistics and the survey on the purpose of image use in "ColBase: Integrated Collections Database of the National Institutes for Cultural Heritage, Japan". The number of image downloads averages around 5,800 per month, and in the survey mentioned above, "Education and Learning" was the most common response. Additionally, the largest traffic comes from "Google," and there is traffic from other cultural properties and educational websites. The majority of images downloaded from "ColBase" are downloaded only once, and even the most downloaded work has only 313 downloads. Users are seeking a wide range of images rather than focusing on specific works.
