In this review work, the history of Japanese balancing study is described on the subjects of low speed balancing, high speed balancing, field balancing and computer aided balancing. In addition, rotordynamics researches related to balancing technique are reviewed. The contributions of Japan for development of ISO Standards concerned to balancing are also described.
