Abstract
The consolidation grouting for improvement of the water-tightness of shallow foundation for a concrete gravity dam is constructed in a narrow area. It often becomes a heated discussion whether we should construct the grouting by the split-spacing method with a grided pattern, or by that with a row pattern. In this technical note, we investigated the number of grout holes for consolidation grouting with both patterns, and discussed an optimum construction procedure of consolidation grouting for the improvement of water-tightness in dam foundations based on the investigated results.
