Abstract
This paper will introduce a rapid construction method of core of rockfill dam. It was necessary to use huge volume, 1,000,000 m3, of core material to build core zone of Tokuyama Dam in 3 years (26 months), due to the limited construction schedule. By using "automatic radio-isotope scanning densimeter" for compaction quality check, a thick, 30 cm, layer was successfully constructed at a time and contributed for the shorter construction time. Since decreasing rate of the pore water pressure is as same as ordinary cores, it is considered as a useful method.
