Abstract
There are more than100 in-stream flood mitigation dams in Styrian state, Austria. We investigated 11of those dams in November, 2009. In this paperreport, we studied about riverbed sediment materials by comparing with ones in Japan. Thereis occasionally some difference in riverbed sediment materials between upstreamand downstream of one dams. Itis similar also in Austria and Japan. Geographicalfeature on the flood control basin is thought to be as oneof the reasonscauses similarlyin Austria and Japan. Creating lTheconsideration such as installing the low-water channelsin the flood control basin can beis effectivenecessary to secure the continuityousnessof the sediment transport.
