In recent years, the aging of the workforce has progressed rapidly, and there are concerns that the construction industry will face a serious labor shortage due to the large-scale retirement of older workers and a decrease in the workforce caused by the declining birthrate. Against this background, there is a demand to improve productivity by streamlining construction and utilizing new technologies to reduce the number of people and labor required. In recent years, various efforts have been made to reduce energy consumption with the aim of achieving carbon neutrality. This paper reports on examples of construction streamlining, utilization of new technologies, and environmental considerations at Naruse Dam, the largest trapezoidal CSG dam in Japan.
