Dam gated piers support spillway gates and are critical structures that can have significant impacts in the event of damage caused by large-scale earthquakes. Therefore, it is essential to ensure their seismic performance against such events. When retrofitting the seismic performance of dam gated piers, it is necessary to consider the operational requirements of the dam. However, there are few cases of seismic retrofitting for dam gated piers, and the establishment of rational reinforcement methods is highly desirable. In this study, we focused on the PS anchor method, which has been widely implemented overseas, as a reinforcement technique for dam bodies. To evaluate the effectiveness of the PS anchor method, incremental static and incremental dynamic analyses were conducted using a three-dimensional solid element model of an actual dam gated pier.
