Abstract
Grouting works currently performed is still based on empirical knowledge and there are many points which must be clarified in order to carry out effective and efficient grouting. Especially, it is important to clarify the grouting mechanism through rock joints for the development of grouting procedure for jointed rock masses. In this study the authors carried out the experiments on grouting using several kinds of transparent tube as the model of the pathways in a rock joint. Some critical values for grouting procedure such as injection pressure, water: cement ratio are obtained from the test results. Besides, the models for the prediction of flux of grout milk as time elapsed are constituted referring the observation of grout lumps in the transparent tubes. These models are fitting for the test results.
