Abstract
Virtual training systems of job skills in two fields are developed for inexperienced trainees. The system in scaffolding job, a trainee walks on high-place scaffold boards in the immersive virtual construct, and experiences several dangerous situations to raise the safety awareness without real danger. The other in lathe operation, a trainee operates the tool rest positioning handle of virtual lathe on the screen by actual action to end-effector of the haptic display. He can hear the real cutting sound and feel contact force and/or vibration through the end-effector. This experience leads the trainee to avoid risks by misoperation.
