Abstract
As the fourth industrial revolution progresses, efforts are underway to improve labor productivity and generate added value through the use of digital technology to enhance coordination among manufacturing processes. In technology education, there is an increasing need to train manufacturing personnel who have mastered digital technology in a step-by-step manner. The purpose of this study was to validate the effectiveness of using 3D CAD (Three-Dimensional Computer Aided Design) simulations with digital data, to teach students in the mechanical engineering department of a technical high school to understand the operating principles and structure of an air engine. As a result of the class practice, we observed that students were able to effectively understand the structure and operating principles of air engines through the operation of a 3D CAD simulation.
