Abstract
The spreading utilization of the Internet is bringing more extensive usage of electronic mail, WWW (World Wide Web ) etc. in educational activities. On the other hand, the high speed computer communication infrastructure for electronic telecommunications in the higher educational organizations. Accordingly, the more high grade usage of multimedia communication including voices and images becomes practically feasible. From these points of view, in this paper, we describe first how the Internet is currently used in the Hiroshima City University. Next we define the real-time, interactive multimedia communication, and discuss its significance, effectiveness, the current status of its utilization and future issues from the point of educational usage.
