A New Education Method for Training Ability of Planning, Writing and Presentation of Technical Documents

Abstract

Todays engineers are required to have ability to make technical documents about their products and to present them to the customers. Hence, the education programs to train such skills as planning, writing and presentation of technical documents are needed in engineering education. Particularly, such education programs are indispensable to the students who have majored in computer engineering because the products such as computer programs and software are illustrated with documents. However, there are few programs to educate such skills systematically in today's engineering curriculum. This paper reports a new method to achieve such ability using information technology. The students evaluation to this program was made in department of system and information engineering of Hachinohe Institute of Technology, and a positive feedback was obtained from students.
