A Case Study of the Construction of a New LAN System with a Cross Certification System and Quarantine System for Computer Virus at Chiba Institute of Science

Abstract

All new students should buy mobile PCs, because the personal computer (PC) is becoming one of the main teaching aids in university education. Some universities are trying mobile PCs for classes and extracurricular activities in case studies. On the other hand, typical types of local area network (LAN) have some problems from a computer virus and a security point of view. So we need to prepare a new LAN system which considers these problems.
In this paper, we will introduce a case of mobile PC, and the construction of a LAN with the IEEE802.1x/EAP TLS cross certification and the quarantine system of computer viruses.
