Abstract

In this study, the civil engineering education in "Specialist School of Business" from the Meiji period to Showa period is focused on. Specially, to focus the considerations on the time that teachers are changed from "the civil engineers that received a civil engineering education by employed foreigners" to "the civil engineers that an education by Japanese engineers." Materials of this study are the graduation theses about 1,000 students from 1901 to 1938. The processes of this study are following: The first, these were constructed of database and arranged to analyze the changes of targets. The second, the civil engineering educations in those schools were divided three terms. The last, the validity of them based on the changes of curriculums and teachers was discussed. Then, the features of the civil engineering educations in those schools were guessed every term.
