Abstract
We performed a bacteriological study on the infection control sandals® and the nontreated sandalsin ICU in order to investigate the usability of infection control products in the medical field. The results indicate that the strain adhering to both types of sandals was similar. The mean±standard error of the bacteria count adhering to the sandals was 39.4±6.2/20 cm2 for the infection control sandals® while 81.0± 24.6/20 cm2 for the nontreated sandals. A significant difference (p=0.018, n=7) was recognized. The decrease in the count of the adherent bacteria was expected to diminish hospital infection
