Abstract

As robotic technology continues to advance and after-corona tele-registration robots attract more and more attention, we developed a teleoperated tele-registration robot system using the Pepper robot and demonstrated its potential use for viewing purposes in art museums and other venues. Participants in the experiment were able to view YouTubeLive videos on their PCs and VR goggles while controlling Pepper on their PCs, and found that while there was a delay in the operation over YouTubeLive, Pepper was able to perform its movement tasks. The International Association of Affective Photographs (IAPS) and the caption generation algorithm were used to study the design of the robot's affective responses, and it was concluded that "methods that generate affective responses to the entire image are more suitable than those to objects." Comparative experiments also showed that CATR tended to generate accurate captions for landscape photos.
