61. Fabrication and evaluation of 270°C level solid phase change material with BFS crystalized glass

Abstract

Crystalized glass materials with dispersed metal nanoparticles are fabricated and evaluated as a novel solid-state phase change material (PCM) for thermal energy storage at 270°C level. A sintered body of the fabricated PCM shows high thermal conductivity and moderate latent heat, i.e., greater figure of merit (FOM) as compared to NaNO₃ which is the conventional PCM with similar phase change temperature.
