Impact of PV array overloading on the forecast of PV generated power in a wide area was investigated for the Kanto region. The PV power fluctuations at two locations more than 100 km apart differed from each other, and the timing of PV power clipping due to overloading was different. The impact of overloading on the accuracy of PV power forecasting in a wide area was smaller than the smoothing effect.
