Abstract

Currently, the use of renewable energy is attracting attention, and forecasting the supply and demand of solar power generation is essential. This research group is constructing a system to predict horizontal solar radiation intensity by monitoring the behavior of cloud shadows. In this study, we constructed a model to estimate the power generated from the predicted horizontal solar radiation intensity using a neural network. We also analyzed the shadows cast on the panels and evaluated to what extent the model was able to estimate the effects of shadows.
