Abstract

In order to improve the light utilization efficiency (LUE), which is one of the evaluation indices of semitransparent organic photovoltaics (ST-OPV), ST-OPV must improve the conversion efficiency (PCE) while maintaining high light transmittance. The objective of this study was to improve the short-circuit current of inverse-structured ST-OPVs using highly oriented polymeric materials. In this experiment, we investigated the use of phenanthroline derivatives, which have already been proven as materials for the electron injection layer in reverse-structured OLEDs, for the electron transport layer of ST-OPVs. As a result, we report our findings that PCE can be improved by applying phenanthroline derivatives to the electron transport layer of inversestructured ST-OPVs.
