Abstract

This study proposes a failure diagnosis method to detect failures of PV module connected in PV string. As a detection index, capacitor voltages after first and eighth flash light irradiation and output current at the end of the first flash light irradiation are used in the proposed method. To confirm the feasibility of the failure diagnosis method, the authors perform calculations and experiments. As a result, it is made clear that a specific factor of failures of PV modules can be identified based on capacitor voltages after first and eighth flash light irradiation and output current at the end of the first flash light irradiation.
