Abstract

Nowadays, energy plays an important role in human daily life. Renewable energy is one way to encounter climate change, especially solar energy. In this literature, the optimal conditions of the overload rate were determined. The overload rate was defined as the PV/Inverter ratio. This study assumes a location in Thailand, a country with significant solar irradiance and a growing interest in renewable energy as an alternative to fossil fuels. The overload rate ratio was optimized based on energy generation and profit earned for PV system sizes of 300 kW, 500 kW, and 1000 kW. The results show that an overload rate of 111% represents the highest energy generation, while an overload rate of 118% demonstrates the highest profit earned. This overload rate could be used as a guideline for designing PV (Photovoltaic) systems in Thailand.
