Three atmospheric reanalysis data products were evaluated to assess the solar energy resource. Quantifications of accuracy of global solar irradiance from three reanalysis data products were compared and analyzed. Finally, we offered suggestions on utilization of the reanalysis for the resource assessment of solar energy in Japan.
