Abstract

The authors have proposed a photovoltaic module failure diagnostic method using capacitor and flash lamp. In this study, firstly, the diagnostic capacitor used in the proposed method was studied. As a result, it was made clear that it is necessary to avoid a large capacitance that does not increase the voltage of the diagnostic capacitor after flash light irradiation, while also avoiding a small capacitance that cause the voltage of the diagnostic capacitor to approach the open circuit voltage as soon as the flash of light is irradiated.
