Abstract
We have reported the role of graphic science education for undergraduate students in clothing and textile course. The basic course line of the education was that the shape analysis of human figure through out the 3 - D measurements and its accurate description would help students to learn a fundamental clothing pattern planning theory.
The teaching was consisted of the follwing three processes; 1. careful observation and accurate description of 3 - D objects; 2. drawings of intersection and surface development using primitive solids which have been modeled after segmental human figures; 3. analyses of 3 - D measurements of human figures.
The results of teaching showed that graphic science education helped students to recognize how morphological aspect of the human body affected on clothing pattern planning.
