Abstract
Upon survey of the primary and middle school children in Sendai City grouped by the areas of residence, it was found that, generally speaking, the children living in the central part are higher in stature, but in body weight and breast girth, those in the more outlying parts were found superior. The athletic ability (running, jumping, throwing and horizontal bar exercise) was found better developed among the children in the central and the outlying area and worst in the children in the zone between the, two areas. The intelligence quotient of the children fell lower from the central to the outlying areas.
