Effect of ORC (oxygen release compound) on organogenesis in PLB (protocorm-like body) cultures of Cymbidium finlaysonianum was examined. Proliferation of PLB was promoted by addition of ORC at concentrations over 30 mg/l. Addition of ORC to culture medium resulted in a significant increase in shoot numbers developed from PLBs. Number of shoots were increased 1. 8 fold compared to that after control treatment.
