Abstract
To cope with aged society, the activities of homecare nurses, especially in visiting nursing, have been expanded since 1990s. In addition, educational system for homecare nurses and nursing students have also established. Homecare patients and their families are supported on both medical care and their lives by homecare nurses. Institutionalizing Long-Term care insurance for elderly makes the provision of the homecare nursing services inexpensive, then it produces the regulation of providing them which might give limitation to homecare patients at the same time. Moreover, there is the lack of the services for severe patients and the nurses in outpatient department. The disparity on the availability of care services among the cities is also awaiting solution. To solve these problems, the regional plans for medical treatment and welfare of the local government are very important. Health and medical sociologists might contribute to make these plans meaningful.
