The Raman scattering experiments for solid bromine were carried out under pressure of up to 80 GPa, at which pressure solid bromine undergoes the molecular dissociation. The frequency-pressure dependences for the vibrational Ag and B3g modes and the librational Ag and B3g modes were obtained. Their frequencies increased with an increase in pressure, in contrast to the softening of the vibrational B3g mode and the librational Ag mode in the case of solid iodine.
