Abstract
This study treated the problem of float and sludge of Hori River in Nagoya city. At first, the seasonal change of float was clarified by capturing float by using the net at Hioki Bridge. Furthermore, the transport characteristic of float was investigated in upstream area from Matsushige lock in Hori River. The process of the accumulation of float in the upstream area of Hori River was shown. It was found that bad smell occurred in downstream area from Kameya Bridge and in the area between Matsushige lock and Naka Bridge. Finally, it was found that the thickness of sludge and ignition loss was higher value in Matsushige lock and Naka Bridge. From these results, the relationship between transport characteristics of float and states of sludge and bad smell were also studied.
