It is hoped that the proposal by JSIA will make great strides in the systematic release of environmental impact statements in Japan. However, it must be said that this is a small step in terms of the goal of archiving environmental impact assessment documents and making the information obtained through the procedure open data.
This paper introduces this topic with the intention of contributing to the progress of future discussions by raising future issues and presenting the results of a survey on the current status of local governments.
