Wavelet Constructions with Lifting Scheme

Abstract

Abstract. The lifting scheme gives an easy way to construct biorthogonal wavelets and accelerates the discrete wavelet transform. This paper attempts to describe lifting-based methods to construct biorthogonal wavelets and to build the discrete wavelet transform. Various aspects of the lifting scheme including a range of applications to nonlinear signal processing are introduced.
