A Metaheuristic Algorithm for Solving an Electric Vehicle Routing Problem for Preventing Electric Shortage and Its Numerical Analysis

Abstract

Abstract. An electric vehicle routing problem is to find an optimal route with minimal travel cost in which electrical shortages do not occur. In this paper, we present a localsearch-based metaheuristic algorithm for finding near-optimal solutions. Computational results are also presented in which actual operating conditions are simulated. These results show good performance of our algorithm.
