Abstract
This paper describes the waves that occur in the chain vibration model in which adjoining particles are connected by a nonlinear spring. The nonlinear spring has a term that is proportional to the expansion of the spring and a term that is proportional to the n-th power of the expansion of the spring. In this chain vibration model, it was shown that the wave generated maintains a constant distance between the particles due to the interaction of the transversal and longitudinal vibrations. The existence of the wave was confirmed by simulation. It was also shown that the wave conveys kinetic energy but not potential energy.
